Our Internship Opportunities

The Savant Intern position is a temporary position that exists to provide a student with a general department overview and supervised practical training. General duties will be assigned that will allow the student to develop entry-level skills required in a professional workplace. The duties and responsibilities of the position will vary and will be dependent upon the department where the intern is assigned to work. Savant offers a variety of internship opportunities in the following areas: wealth advisory, financial planning, retirement plan services, tax preparation, marketing, investment research, trading and operations, and compliance.

  • Summer internships are full-time
  • Spring or fall semester internships can be 10-20 hours per week
  • Tax season internships generally run from mid-January through mid-April; 20-40 hours per week

Our Associate Wealth Advisors

The Associate Advisor is an entry-level advisory position focused on mastering client service and the implementation of the Savant wealth management process. The Associate Advisor is pursuing a CFP designation and gaining financial planning knowledge and skills in the role. Associate Advisors must obtain a Series 65 license within six months of hire and are required earn their CFP designation to progress to an Advisor I. You will get the opportunity to:

  • Provide day-to-day support to advisors on clients and prospects, serving as the primary liaison with the client services team
  • Support advisors with meeting preparation, notes and entry of tasks
  • Master advisor technologies; keep CRM up-to-date
  • Prepare and deliver various financial planning analyses (i.e., tax, social security, insurance, stock option, Roth conversion, and pension analyses). Run MoneyGuide Pro data entry.
  • Complete investment analysis tasks
  • Assist with the new client onboarding

Our Tax Associates

The Tax Associate is an entry-level position in our Tax and Consulting department focused on tax preparation and assisting our consulting and specialized financial planning teams. This broad learning experience gives you exposure to tax preparation, financial planning and business consulting services (accounting, payroll, and other business services consulting). You will get the opportunity to:

  • Complete front-line preparation of tax returns
  • Manage client needs and requests; attend client meetings, as needed
  • Learns various software used for tax, paperless document storage and workflow
  • Gather research on complex tax issues
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements, including bank reconciliations, payroll processing, journal entries, etc.
  • Prepare and deliver various financial planning analyses
