Dennis Covington serves as managing partner of Wealth Partners and Retirement Services in Savant’s Atlanta, Georgia, office, where he focuses on advancing the firm’s turnkey asset management program (TAMP) and retirement plan solutions. Dennis helps drive initiatives that give advisors greater access to specialized resources and technology, enabling them to spend more time with clients and offer more proactive guidance. He is especially focused on evolving Savant’s retirement plan services to better support business‑owner clients, a priority fueled by strong growth in the firm’s retirement plan services business in 2025.
Dennis began his career more than 30 years ago and has long viewed fiduciary advice as a calling. As a teenager, he watched his father make a meaningful impact on local business owners through thoughtful planning and accounting guidance. That early exposure inspired Dennis to pursue a career where he could help individuals make smarter decisions with their money. He remains passionate about Savant’s mission to improve one million lives, a goal that has guided his work since the firm managed far less and continues to motivate him as Savant scales its capabilities and reach.
Before joining Savant, Dennis served as CEO of Capital Directions until the firm joined Savant in 2023. His background also includes roles as a senior institutional consultant with TIAA and a staff accountant with KPMG. He frequently discusses topics such as the evolution of financial advice, turnkey asset management platforms, and how retirement plan specialists can support wealth management firms in delivering comprehensive advice. Over the years, he has spoken at Dimensional’s U.S. and European advanced conferences, participated in advisor webinars in Australia, joined M&A‑focused panels, and appeared on multiple industry podcasts.
Dennis is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and provides guidance in wealth transfer and philanthropy, proactive income and estate tax planning, retirement income optimization, cash‑flow planning, insurance analysis, debt management, and education funding. AdvisorHub named him one of its 2024 Advisors to Watch, ranking him No. 4 among the top 200 Registered Investment Advisory firms nationwide.1
Committed to learning and leadership, Dennis serves as treasurer of the Appalachian State University Foundation Board and is an active participant in Vistage, a CEO coaching and peer advisory organization. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
Dennis is active in the Alpharetta Methodist Church in Georgia and supports North Fulton Community Charities’ Circle of Hope. He and his wife, Katherine, have two children and enjoy golf, snow skiing, and cheering on the Appalachian State Mountaineers and Clemson Tigers.
