Irwin Steinberg is the head of Savant’s Tax & Consulting Strategy and chair of the Savant Tax & Consulting Advisory Board. He works out of the Lincolnshire, Illinois, office. Irwin guides Savant’s approach to providing expanded tax and consulting services for individuals and business owners, with a focus on helping them grow their businesses and wealth.

Irwin has worked in the accounting and financial management field for more than 40 years, starting his career in public accounting after earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northern Illinois University. Over the decades, he has advised business owners on tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, financing, profit improvement, and growth initiatives. Before joining Savant, he served as the managing partner of two local CPA firms, driving strategic direction, expanding service offerings, and mentoring associates. One highlight of his career includes founding a CPA firm and growing it from a single employee to more than 50 team members.

At Savant, Irwin leads strategic priorities focused on enhancing client experience and strengthening team culture. His work centers on expanding tax and consulting capabilities, advancing the strategic plan, and supporting growth through mergers and acquisitions. He is especially passionate about mentoring staff and helping them pursue meaningful career progress, reflecting the guidance he once received from his own mentors.

Irwin is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization Gold and previously served as chapter chair for the Windy City Young Presidents’ Organization. He is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Illinois CPA Society. His community involvement includes serving on the Little City Organization Golf Classic Committee. In 2018, he was also honored as the American Diabetes Association Father of the Year.

Irwin grew up in the Chicagoland area and now lives in Long Grove, Illinois, with his wife. They have two sons and four grandchildren. He enjoys spending time outdoors and listening to music.
