Joe Ottaviano serves as a managing partner and financial advisor at Savant’s Knoxville, Tennessee office, where he combines strategic leadership with deep financial experience to help individuals and families navigate financial decisions.
Joe’s approach to financial planning reflects his desire to make a personal impact. He strives to bring clarity to complex decisions and inspire confidence in clients and colleagues alike. Joe was president and CEO of APC Financial Planning in Knoxville until it joined Savant in 2025, where he guided the firm’s growth and upheld its fiduciary mission. His career includes leadership roles in corporate finance, operations, and entrepreneurial ventures.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, Joe is knowledgeable in all areas of financial planning, including wealth transfer and philanthropy, proactive income and estate tax planning, retirement cash flow projections, retirement income optimization, insurance needs analyses, debt management, and education funding. He is also a Certified Kingdom Advisor® (CKA®) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Joe holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Texas at Austin. He actively participates in the Financial Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Outside of work, Joe enjoys time with his wife, Carol, their four children, and six grandchildren. He is active at Grace Presbyterian Church, where he teaches weekly Sunday School, and loves traveling, detailing cars, teaching and coaching baseball to youth, and working out.
