Overview
Financial advisor Joel Sauer serves clients in Savant’s Middleton, Wisconsin office as part of the firm’s University Wealth Management team. Joel guides individuals and families through comprehensive financial planning, focusing on wealth transfer, philanthropy, proactive income and estate tax strategies, retirement cash flow and income optimization, insurance analysis, debt management, and education funding.
Joel entered the financial services industry in 2011 and previously advised clients at a registered investment advisory firm in the Madison market. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional designation, along with the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) and Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) credentials.
Joel earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, where he was named to the Division III All‑America hockey team during his senior year. He remains active in the community as a member of the Waunakee Chamber of Commerce and the Investments and Wealth Institute. He also serves on the investment committee and finance council at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish and participates in the Herb Brooks Foundation to support the growth of youth hockey.
Joel and his wife, Brittni, a pediatric nurse, live in the Madison area with their daughters, Sophie and Charlotte. He enjoys traveling with his family, staying active, and baking with his girls.
