Kenneth “Ken” Duetsch II serves as a managing partner and financial advisor at our Grand Blanc, Michigan, office. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, Ken focuses on guiding individuals, families, and organizations through comprehensive planning designed to help them make confident financial decisions.
He discovered his passion for financial planning early in life. Growing up in a real estate household, he spent many evenings at the kitchen table helping his dad analyze debt-to-income ratios and mortgage scenarios for homebuyers. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong interest in helping people understand and navigate their financial lives.
Ken has more than 35 years of experience working in the financial services industry. Before joining Savant through the 2026 merger with Grand Capital Advisors, he held senior leadership roles across several major financial institutions. He served as a senior portfolio manager at a bank and worked his way up to director of wealth management. His background also includes serving as vice president and senior fixed income portfolio manager at a financial institution, where he managed and traded more than $4.5 billion in securities.
From 2003 to 2007, Ken taught investment management for the American Bankers Association National Trust School at Northwestern University in Chicago and Emory University in Atlanta.
Ken earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with distinction from DePaul University in Chicago. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Detroit.
Dedicated to helping others, particularly in his community, Ken sits on the board of directors and is the finance committee chair for the Mott Children’s Health Center in Flint, Michigan. His past service includes leadership roles with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint, Faith Lutheran Church, the YMCA of Greater Flint, Priority Children, and the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. He also spent three years teaching Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University at his church.
When he’s not working or reading, Ken enjoys spending time with his wife and three adult children. Their family loves traveling and has visited six of the seven locations mentioned in the Beach Boys’ “Kokomo.” Ken also appreciates time at his retreat in northern Michigan.
