Matt is a managing partner and financial advisor in Savant’s St. Paul, MN office. He has a membership interest in Savant.

Matt’s specialties include designing portfolios tailored to fit clients’ needs and goals, concentrated stock ownership strategies, and stock-based compensation analysis.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®), Matt is knowledgeable in all areas of financial planning, including wealth transfer and philanthropy, proactive income and estate tax planning, retirement cash flow projections, retirement income optimization, insurance needs analyses, debt management, and education funding.

Matt has been involved in the financial services industry since 2003. He was a partner and director of investments for PrairieView Partners until it joined with Savant in 2025. Before that, he worked for Prudential Retirement where he gained valuable experience with institutional retirement plans. He was also a portfolio manager for a private wealth management firm.

Matt earned a bachelor of science degree in economics with a concentration in finance from Northern Michigan University and a master of business administration (MBA) degree from the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the CFA Institute.

Matt and his wife Jennifer live in Minneapolis and spend regular time in Aspen, CO where they enjoy downhill skiing, hiking, and cycling. He especially looks forward to participating in the annual Birkebeiner Nordic ski race in Hayward, WI each year. He competed in Nordic skiing in college, earning NCAA Division I All American honors.
