Matthew M. Gavel

Matthew “Matt” Gavel serves as director of trading at Savant, based in the firm’s York and Hanover, Pennsylvania, offices. He leads the firm’s trading function, overseeing strategy and execution across client portfolios and working closely with advisors and investment teams to ensure consistency, efficiency, and alignment with client objectives.

Matt has worked in the financial services industry since 2006. Prior to joining Savant, he served as a senior portfolio manager at Domani Wealth, where he played a key role in portfolio construction and investment oversight until the firm joined Savant in 2023. Earlier in his career, he held roles in investment operations at an advisory firm in Baltimore and began his career as an investment analyst at a boutique advisory firm in the Greater Boston area.

Matt holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation and is an active member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Baltimore. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts.

He lives in southcentral Pennsylvania with his wife, Megan, and their two daughters, Ella and Emelia. Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time outdoors, attending concerts, and being at the beach. He also enjoys supporting Ella’s interest in the arts and Emelia’s enthusiasm for gymnastics. A Massachusetts native, he remains a loyal New England Patriots fan.
