Steve is Savant’s head of data and technology and works in our Chicago Loop office. He has a membership interest in Savant.

Steve focuses on applying emerging technologies, especially artificial intelligence (AI) and leading digital transformation. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP).

Steve has been involved in the technology industry since 1995. Prior to joining Savant, he was the director of enterprise architecture for a global investment banking firm.

Steve pioneered early adoption of generative AI in financial services at his previous firm, including privileged access to OpenAI GPT-2 models, positioning the firm as a leader in the space. He developed an AI-driven M&A buyer/seller scoring system and transformed legacy IT into a cloud-first, platform engineering organization, establishing enterprise architecture, DevOps, and data governance practices. Steve is a recognized speaker and thought leader and has been a speaker and panelist at events such as the University of Chicago GSAL and ADSP, Microsoft WEKA Titans of AI, P33 Chicago Tech Week, and Informatica World.

Steve earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from the University of Iowa and a master of science (MS) degree in applied data science from the University of Chicago, where he is currently a lecturer. He serves as a Boy Scout troop assistant and part-time leader.

Steve enjoys hiking, traveling with family, and all winter sports, especially skiing.
