Stephen Gunter is a financial advisor in Savant’s Huntsville, Alabama, office, where he focuses on comprehensive planning for individuals and families, especially government employees and families planning for a loved one with a disability. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and Chartered Special Needs Consultant® (ChSNC®), he guides clients through wealth transfer strategies, philanthropy planning, proactive income and estate tax considerations, retirement cash flow modeling, retirement income optimization, insurance evaluations, debt management, and education funding.
Stephen began his financial services career in 2011 and began working at Savant when Bridgeworth joined the firm in 2023. He is active in the Financial Planning Association of North Alabama and plays a visible role in the Huntsville community. He teaches acting at Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center, serves on the Corporate Giving Network and investment committee for the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville, and sits on the board of Vantage Leadership Initiative. At Rivertree Church, he contributes as a musician.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and a Master of Science (MS) in financial planning from the University of Georgia.
Away from work, Stephen and his wife enjoy outdoor time with their two children and two rescue dogs. He’s an enthusiastic sports fan with a deep passion for the University of Georgia Bulldogs, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Arsenal Gunners.
