I view financial planning as providing my clients a roadmap for the future. However, it is not something you create and hand over to them. I believe in walking that road with them, being a guide – helping make adjustments when the landscape changes.
William Hocutt serves as a financial advisor in Savant’s Birmingham, Alabama, office, where he helps individuals and families navigate comprehensive financial planning. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and Certified Public Accountant (CPA), he guides clients through wealth transfer, philanthropy strategy, proactive income and estate tax planning, retirement cash flow projections, retirement income optimization, insurance reviews, debt management, and education funding.
William has worked in the financial services industry for more than 25 years. He served as a partner with Bridgeworth until it joined Savant in 2023. He’s a member of the Financial Planning Association of North Alabama, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants. He also completed the G2 Leadership Institute program in 2022.
He graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in commerce and business administration and later earned a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) at the university.
Originally from Tuscaloosa, William lives in Vestavia Hills with his wife, Aubrey, and their three children, John Harris, Thomas, and Vivi. They are active members of Vestavia Hills Methodist Church. When he’s not advising clients or cheering on his kids at their activities, William enjoys playing tennis, cooking outdoors, and catching live music.
