Savant Capital Management is hosting the Ideal Perspectives event, “Using Genealogy to Reconstruct a Life: Chasing Uncle William through the Wilds of Cyberspace,” on Thursday, June 14, at 6:30 p.m. at NIU Rockford, 8500 E. State Street. The event features keynote speaker Annette Burke Lyttle, a professional genealogical researcher, who will help attendees discover how to uncover their life stories.

Burke Lyttle, also an educator, writer, and member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the Genealogical Speakers Guild, as well as many national, state, and local genealogical societies, will guide attendees through an online journey following the amazing life of William Crout, a Civil War veteran, hotel owner, rancher, and local character. Through her extensive years of research, she will share how it’s possible for anyone to reconstruct life stories – in surprising detail – using genealogical resources available online.

Check-in and light refreshments will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by the presentation at 7:00 p.m. There is no cost to attend this event, but pre-registration is required.
