My Summer Internship at Savant

My Summer Internship at Savant – When I look back on this past summer, I am struck by how much I have grown, not just as an intern but as a person. My internship at Savant Wealth Management has officially come to an end, and I want to share my story of what brought me here, the work I was able to do, and the lessons I will carry with me moving forward.
Why I Chose Savant
When I learned about Savant’s mission to improve one million lives, it resonated with me. I wanted to contribute to something meaningful while being part of a firm that was committed to an exciting path of growth.
A Memorable First Day
I will never forget June 4, my first day as an intern. It was rainy, and my windshield was not the clearest, but I could not stop thinking about the road ahead. I told myself, Today is the day I finally step into the professional world. No longer was I working just part-time jobs. That morning, I became part of wealth management, and every day after that, walking into the office felt like I was part of something bigger than myself.
Projects I Worked On
Throughout the summer, my responsibilities were diverse and engaging. Some days I audited data from newly acquired firms. Other days I communicated with advisors about client matters. My biggest project involved creating a dashboard for data retrieval, a tool I hope will make it quicker and easier for team members to find the information they need.
One of the most exciting projects I worked on was collecting data for Savant’s annual submission to the Barron’s Top 100 Independent Advisors survey. I pulled together information about each nominated advisor and prepared it for compliance review. That project gave me the chance to sharpen my communication skills, expand my network, and contribute to something with firmwide impact.
Lessons Learned
One of the most impactful pieces of advice I received came from Savant’s CEO, Brent Brodeski. He encouraged us to embrace a growth mindset and reminded us that internships are the perfect opportunity to learn and expand our knowledge.
I also connected deeply with Savant’s mission. Even though I was not meeting clients face-to-face, I knew I was supporting a company dedicated to putting people first.
Advice for Future Interns
If I could offer one piece of advice to future Savant interns, it would be this: ask questions. Asking good questions is often the best, and sometimes the only, way to fully understand what you are doing. Savant’s team welcomed my curiosity and encouraged me to keep learning, which made all the difference in my experience.
Reflections on My Internship
Looking back, I would absolutely recommend this internship to others. Savant did not just give me “busy work” tasks. They gave me real projects, encouraged feedback, and provided opportunities to grow personally and professionally.
This summer, I did not just gain experience. I gained confidence, direction, and pride in being part of Savant Wealth Management.
