Christopher R. Plagge

Christopher “Chris” Plagge serves as director of Tax & Consulting for our Saint Charles, Illinois, office. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Enrolled Agent (EA), licensed by the United States Department of the Treasury to practice before the Internal Revenue Service, he began his career in the tax and financial services industry in 1983.

Chris focuses on income tax planning and preparation, financial reporting and analysis, financial modeling, and business management consulting. Before joining Savant, he served as managing partner at Green, Plagge & Shaw, where he advised closely held businesses and individuals on complex tax matters and long-term financial strategies. His background supports clients seeking clarity around tax efficiency, cash flow planning, and informed decision-making.

He maintains active involvement in leading professional organizations that support high standards in accounting and tax practice. Chris is a member of the Illinois CPA Society, the National Association of Enrolled Agents, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Elmhurst College in Illinois and completed the College for Financial Planning’s CFP professional education program.

Chris lives in Marco Island, Florida, with his wife, Patti. They have two adult sons, Sean and Kevin, and two grandchildren, Reese and Cole. He enjoys playing golf, watching sports, traveling, and studying World War II–era history. A lifelong Beatles fan, Chris has visited Abbey Road Studios in London.
