Overview
Laura Chiesman is a managing partner and financial advisor focused on comprehensive financial planning for individuals and families, serving our Satellite Beach and Orlando, Florida, offices. With more than 30 years in wealth management and financial planning, Laura helps clients navigate complex decisions with clarity, confidence, and a long-term perspective.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) professional, Laura works across all areas of financial planning. Her work includes wealth transfer, business succession and philanthropy strategies, proactive income and estate tax planning, retirement cash flow projections, retirement income optimization, insurance needs analyses, debt management, and education funding. She takes a solutions-oriented approach that helps clients align financial decisions with their most important goals.
Laura began working at Savant in 2024 when FirstWave Financial joined the firm. In 2001, she began her career at FirstWave and served clients in a variety of leadership roles before purchasing the firm and leading it as president and WealthCoach™. Throughout her career, Laura has remained focused on thoughtful leadership, disciplined planning, and long‑standing client relationships. In 2025, AdvisorHub named her to its “250 Advisors to Watch” RIA ranking, earning her the No. 133 spot in the ranking1.
She stays actively involved in professional and business organizations. Laura is a member of the Financial Planning Association and the Women Presidents’ Organization, Orlando Chapter. She also serves as an advisory board member for Enterprising Women and is a member of the weVENTURE Women’s Business Center League of Extraordinary Investors. Additionally, she co-authored a book on the topic of business succession, It’s A Journey: The MUST-HAVE Roadmap to Successful Succession Planning.
Laura maintains strong ties to her local community. She serves on the board of the Community Foundation for Brevard and is a member of the American Business Women’s Association. She also participates in regional business leadership through the Melbourne Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Laura serves on the governing board of Genesis House, shelters for women and children founded by her mother, and she is a member of the Eau Gallie Yacht Club.
Laura earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She has two adult children, Lea and Stuart, and two grandchildren. She enjoys beach activities and spending time with her many family members and friends. A lifelong learner, Laura is an avid reader and podcast listener who enjoys business books and inspirational life journey stories. For entertainment, she reads fiction and especially enjoys a good mystery. Fun fact: She has a deep appreciation for a good‑tasting hot sauce.
