Overview

Daniel “Danny” Hutcherson, managing partner and financial advisor in our Louisville, Kentucky, office, focuses on guiding individuals and families through complex financial planning and health care decisions. Since 1996, Danny has devoted his financial services career to helping clients align their long-term goals with strategies that support financial confidence. He joined Savant in 2024 when Sortino Advisory Partners joined the firm.

At Sortino Advisory Partners, Danny co-founded the firm and served as director of family wealth and fiduciary consulting. He chose Savant for its commitment to excellence and lifelong learning, values that closely match his own approach to client service and professional development. In 2026, AdvisorHub named him to its “250 Advisors to Watch” RIAs ranking, earning him the No. 216 spot in the ranking1.

Danny holds several respected industry designations and is a Chartered Alternative Investment AnalystSM (CAIA®) charterholder, Certified Investment Management AnalystSM (CIMA®), and Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst® (AIFA®). He combines these credentials with a deep understanding of planning strategies to help clients navigate decisions related to investment management, retirement, and health-related financial considerations.

Danny’s academic background also shapes his perspective, as he holds three academic degrees, is a doctoral student at Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health, and holds fellowship appointments at Harvard Medical School’s Center for Bioethics and Department of Global Health and Social Medicine for the 2026-27 academic year. He earned a Master of Science (MS) with distinction in translational health sciences from the University of Oxford, a Master of Arts in gerontology from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration in finance from the University of Louisville.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Danny remains active in his community. He serves on the Chicago Scots Board of Governors and supports a range of cultural and civic initiatives. He also enjoys hiking, traveling with his family, and supporting the performing arts.
