David McCormick-Goodhart is a financial advisor focused on comprehensive financial planning in our Vienna, Virginia, office. He has been involved in the financial services industry since 2005, where he has supported individuals and families with thoughtful, goals-based planning.
A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), he advises clients on wealth transfer and philanthropy, proactive income and estate tax planning, retirement cash flow projections, retirement income planning, insurance needs analyses, debt management, and education funding strategies. He also holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credential from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), allowing him to integrate tax-aware planning into every stage of the financial decision-making process.
Before joining Savant, David worked as a senior tax accountant at an accounting firm and later served as a financial advisor at a wealth management firm in the Greater Washington, D.C., metro area. His background across accounting and advisory roles gives him a well-rounded perspective when helping clients navigate complex financial choices.
He remains active in the community and serves on the board of directors for the Gaithersburg Germantown Upcounty Chamber. He also maintains professional memberships with the AICPA and the Financial Planning Association.
David earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
When he is not working with clients, David enjoys family walks with his wife and son, discovering new restaurants, and collecting vintage video games and vinyl records.
