Melissa Orlando is the head of Savant Tax & Consulting operations and works in our St. Charles, Illinois, office. She leads the firm’s tax and accounting functions with a focus on operational excellence, unified service standards, and deeper collaboration across Savant’s tax, accounting, and wealth advisory teams. She drives initiatives intended to create consistent client experiences across all offices, including structured onboarding, clear communication practices, standardized deliverables, and coordinated workflows supported by integrated technology that offers real-time financial visibility.

Melissa discovered accounting in high school, and the structure and logic of the subject immediately resonated with her. That early spark led to a career built around helping individuals and business owners make informed decisions. She later owned and operated her own tax and accounting firm, where she partnered closely with business owners and gained a deep appreciation for the financial foundations that help organizations grow. She served as a partner and the tax and accounting operations function lead for AMDG Business Advisory Services until it joined with Savant in 2021.

Joining Savant’s executive leadership team has been the most meaningful milestone in her career. Melissa values the opportunity to shape a growing national practice, strengthen internal culture, and build lasting systems rooted in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. She believes in that strong leadership and she is energized by Savant’s ongoing growth and integration efforts.

Melissa is an Enrolled Agent (EA), licensed by the Department of the Treasury to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Phoenix and is a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals.

She enjoys spending time with her husband, their four children, one son-in-law, and two grandchildren. Together, they enjoy game nights, swimming, hiking, and watching movies.
