Mike brings to Savant over 25 years’ experience as our attorney concentrating on complex estate and business succession planning, estate tax avoidance, charitable planning, and advising clients regarding all types of trusts and estate administration. He is a member of the Ideal Futures Committee, an internal panel that develops the processes, technology, and tools to implement the Ideal Futures Platform vision.
Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame and completed a joint degree program at Marquette University, attaining a Juris Doctorate degree from Marquette School of Law and a master’s degree in business administration from Marquette Graduate School of Business. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, the Winnebago County Bar Association, and the Estate Section and the Business and Tax Section of the Winnebago County Bar Association.
Mike was named one of the top estate planning attorneys in the state of Illinois by Worth magazine and a Leading Lawyer by fellow attorneys in the fields of trusts and estates. In 2008 Mike was awarded the Order of St. Gregory by the Holy See for his service to the Catholic Diocese of Rockford, for which he has served multiple terms on the Bishop’s Finance Council and various ad hoc committees associated with Diocesan Finance and Audit. In 2015 he was named one of the “20 People You Should Know” by the Rockford Chamber.
Mike enjoys coaching his children in their extracurricular activities and spending time doing just about anything outdoors in northern Wisconsin with his family.
I enjoy taking on and accomplishing unique challenges, whether coordinating a superior client experience via the integration of multidisciplinary specialists in the legal, tax, and trust arenas or installing a boat starter motor using YouTube to the cheers of my children.
