Justin Smith Earns Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® Designation
Savant Wealth Management (formerly Savant Capital Management) announced today that Financial Advisor Justin Smith received the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) professional designation from the Richard D. Irwin Graduate School of The American College of Financial Services.
Advisors with the CAP® designation are uniquely qualified to help wealthy families create inspired legacy plans. Smith joins more than 1,400 financial advisors to have achieved this designation since 2003. Professionals receiving this designation have taken at least three courses in philanthropic studies and six hours of rigorous exams at the Richard D. Irwin Graduate School, learning about charitable gift techniques and strategies and philanthropic tools such as charitable trusts, private foundations, pooled income funds, and charitable gift annuities. Those earning the CAP® designation help donors improve their communities by maximizing the effective application of their financial resources.
Smith has been involved in the financial services industry since 2005. He specializes in tax-smart retirement planning at Savant and is a frequent speaker on tax-smart philanthropy and retirement planning, as well as Social Security planning. He is a member of the Savant Advisory Team, working from the firm’s Phoenix office. Smith graduated from the University of Michigan, where he studied business and finance.
