Philip “Phil” Corcoran serves as a financial advisor in our Vienna, Virginia office, where he helps individuals and families navigate complex financial planning strategies. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, Phil focuses on wealth transfer and philanthropy, proactive income and estate tax planning, retirement cash flow projections, retirement income optimization, insurance analysis, debt management, and education funding.
Phil has worked in the financial services industry since 1992. He founded a company dedicated to developing software solutions that improved stock-based compensation decision-making for advisors and their clients. Before joining Savant through its acquisition of The Corcoran Group in 2015, Phil served as president of the firm in Bethesda, Maryland.
Earlier in his career, Phil served as a Naval Intelligence Officer in the United States Navy. His assignments included serving aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower during Operation Desert Shield, working as an Asia-Pacific research analyst for the Defense Intelligence Agency, and supporting the Joint Chiefs of Staff Intelligence Staff at the National Military Joint Intelligence Center. His military honors include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and recognition as the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Analyst Producer of the Year.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the U.S. Naval Academy, where he was named to The Commandant’s List. In addition, he is a member of the Financial Planning Association.
Phil and his wife, Stacey, have three children. He enjoys yoga, golf, and playing piano, and is an Ironman 70.3 triathlon finisher.
