Joel Cundick serves as a lead advisor and financial advisor in Savant’s Vienna, Virginia, office. He guides individuals and families through comprehensive financial planning that spans wealth transfer, philanthropy, proactive income and estate tax strategies, retirement cash flow projections, retirement income optimization, insurance reviews, debt management, and education funding.
Joel entered the financial services industry in 2004 after starting his career in corporate finance with a Fortune 500 company. He later joined a Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm in Rockville, Maryland, before serving as vice president of The Corcoran Group in Bethesda. He transitioned to Savant when it acquired The Corcoran Group in 2015.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), Joel brings a broad command of planning and fiduciary responsibilities. He remains active in the Financial Planning Association and has been quoted in Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, and Washingtonian magazine. He has also appeared as a repeat guest on Federal News Radio. In 2025, AdvisorHub ranked him No. 122 on its list of 250 Advisors to Watch in its RIA category.
He graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, with a bachelor’s degree in business management with a finance emphasis, where he was a National Merit and Ezra Taft Benson Scholar. He later earned his Certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Joel and his wife, Kristin, have four children. He enjoys hiking, cycling, exploring the outdoors, and studying American history with a focus on the Civil War. He also has a deep love for Italian culture and cuisine and speaks Italian fluently.
