Kyle Hafstad serves as director of Savant Private Trust, focusing on estate and trust planning for high-net-worth individuals and families from our Plano, Texas, office. His role is to guide high‑net‑worth clients through strategic estate planning and tax‑minimization decisions and oversee the creation and management of complex wealth transfer plans in collaboration with clients’ estate planning attorneys. He joined Savant in 2026 when Exencial Wealth Advisors joined the firm, where he previously advised clients on complex estate planning strategies.
Kyle began his career after earning a bachelor’s degree in business management and finance from Purdue University. While initially pursuing a corporate finance role, he joined a national planning firm that delivered financial, estate, and business planning services to affluent families and closely held business owners. The complexity of multigenerational planning and the problem-solving required to support families proved to be a strong fit.
Throughout his career, Kyle has built long-term client relationships that allow planning strategies to evolve alongside family, business, and personal goals. His work centers on helping families navigate the technical and financial considerations tied to existing and future planning, with a strong emphasis on clarity and coordination.
Kyle brings a highly collaborative approach to his role, working closely with clients’ attorneys, certified public accountants, and other financial professionals. He helps align all members of a client’s advisory team to ensure planning structures function as intended and remain effective over time. Ongoing oversight and education play a key role in this process, particularly as families work through the responsibilities associated with trusts, fiduciary roles, and their estate documents.
Kyle and his wife are originally from Chicagoland. They spend much of their free time traveling and going home to visit family.
