Patti Black, a financial advisor in Savant’s Birmingham, Alabama, office, helps individuals and families navigate wealth planning with a focus on aligning financial decisions with personal values. Patti draws on her experience as part of the “sandwich generation,” which shaped her insight into the financial and emotional pressures clients often face while supporting aging parents and children at the same time.
As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and Certified Senior Advisor (CSA®), Patti guides clients through comprehensive financial planning, including wealth transfer and philanthropy, proactive income and estate tax planning, retirement cash flow projections, retirement income optimization, insurance analyses, debt management, and education funding.
Patti has worked in the financial services industry for more than 30 years. She previously served as a partner at Bridgeworth before it joined Savant in 2023.
Patti is active in professional and community organizations. She is a board member for 100 Shares Birmingham (a women’s charitable giving group) and a member of the Financial Planning Association of North Alabama and the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham. Her insights appear in national media outlets such as Forbes, Barron’s, Kiplinger’s, U.S. News & World Report, Financial Planning magazine, InvestmentNews, MarketWatch, and Real Simple.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in human environmental sciences from the University of Alabama, graduating magna cum laude. She and her husband Doug have adult twins, Anna and Luke.
