Thomas “Tom” Ptacin is a financial advisor in our Rockford, Illinois, office. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, he guides individuals and families through comprehensive financial planning, with a focus on wealth transfer and philanthropy, tax-efficient strategies, retirement income planning, insurance analysis, debt management, and education funding. He’s also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) and Chartered Retirement Plan SpecialistSM (CRPS®).
Tom has worked in the financial services industry for more than 25 years. Before joining Savant, he held trading and management roles at a large insurance company. His background in investment operations strengthened the firm’s approach to trading, portfolio management, and reporting.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance and economics from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Montana.
Tom and his wife, Kari, have two children, Thomas and Anna. He enjoys fishing, traveling, playing tennis and golf, and spending time with his children.
