Overview
Gregory “Greg” Desmond is a managing partner and financial advisor at our Walnut Creek, California, office. A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, Greg focuses on comprehensive financial planning for individuals, families, and business owners. He began working at Savant in 2026 when Desmond Wealth Management joined the firm.
Greg founded Desmond Wealth Management and Desmond Consulting Group to help address the growing demand for an advisor who could act as a personal CFO. He built both firms around a fully integrated approach to financial planning, helping clients manage income taxes, IRA and pension distributions, investment portfolio design and oversight, retirement income strategies, estate planning, business formation, and long-term planning.
He has more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and he holds the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation.
Greg remains active in the profession and serves on the California Society of CPAs Personal Financial Planning Committee and is a voting council member. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Estate Planning Council of Diablo Valley. Local and regional media frequently turn to Greg for insight, including appearances on KRON4 News in San Francisco and interviews with KGO Channel 7 News, where he has discussed market conditions and their potential impact on retirees.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Greg lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoys golf, cycling, skiing, woodworking, wine collecting, jazz, and giving back to the community. He supports several philanthropic organizations, including Komen for the Cure, Contra Costa Food Bank, and Joybound People & Pets.
