ROCKFORD, Ill. (Sep. 15, 2026) – Savant Accounting & Business Advisory (SABA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Savant Wealth Management, announced it has partnered with Summit CPA Group, a Rockford-based accounting and advisory firm. The partnership became effective Aug. 31, 2026. Savant did not disclose financial details.
Summit CPA Group has served business owners throughout the Rockford region since 1999, providing accounting, tax, and advisory services designed to support both business and personal financial goals. Led by Scot Dobbs, CPA/PFS, CFP®, MST, the firm has built longstanding relationships with clients by helping them navigate important financial and business decisions throughout the life of their businesses.
For Melissa Orlando, EA, Head of Savant Accounting & Business Advisory, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to helping business owners succeed.
“Summit has built a strong reputation by helping business owners address the challenges and opportunities that come with running and growing a business,” Orlando said. “Scot and his team share our belief that meaningful advice begins with understanding each client’s goals, circumstances, and vision for the future. We’re excited to welcome them to Savant Accounting & Business Advisory.”
The partnership also carries special significance because both organizations have longstanding ties to Rockford. Savant was founded in Rockford in 1986 and continues to maintain its headquarters in the city.
Dobbs said the partnership brings together two organizations with similar values and a shared focus on long-term client relationships.
“Our clients depend on us to understand both their businesses and their personal financial priorities,” Dobbs said. “Partnering with Savant allows us to maintain the personalized service our clients expect while expanding the resources available to help them address a broader range of financial and business needs.”
As business owners face increasingly complex challenges, including business succession planning, the need for coordinated advice often extends beyond tax preparation and compliance. The partnership provides Summit clients with access to additional accounting, consulting, payroll, and business advisory resources through Savant Accounting & Business Advisory while preserving the relationships they have built with the Summit team.
Clients will also have access to the broader services available through Savant, including wealth management and financial planning resources that can help address both personal and business financial goals through a more integrated approach.
“Business owners frequently face decisions that affect both their companies and their families,” Orlando said. “With Summit joining Savant, we’re creating opportunities to help serve clients more comprehensively while continuing to provide personalized guidance..”
Dobbs joins Savant as a member-owner. He and his team are now employees of SABA, further expanding Savant’s ability to serve businesses, business owners, individuals, and families throughout northern Illinois and beyond.
The partnership coincides with Savant’s rebranding of Savant Tax & Consulting as Savant Accounting & Business Advisory (SABA), reflecting the firm’s broader suite of accounting, advisory, consulting, payroll, and tax services. SABA includes more than 140 accounting, tax, and advisory professionals. In 2026, Accounting Today named Savant No. 1 on its Billion-Dollar Wealth Magnets list for the fourth consecutive year.
