June 2026 WSJ Buy Side Financial Advisors: The Wall Street Journal rated financial advisor firms on a scale of one to five stars using a weighted scoring model out of 100 possible points. The methodology does not specify a defined time period over which the rating is based, but incorporates a range of current and historical information, including certain compliance-related factors (e.g., review of regulatory records. They used two main sources when determining the factors to consider when ranking RIA firms: a Wall Street Journal reader survey and input from industry experts. Data was collected from Advisor dot com https://advisor.com/ through provider questionnaires, as well as wealth management firm websites, regulatory filings and first-hand information via provider demonstrations.
They used a relative grading scale and the top-performing firm served as the benchmark. All other scores were indexed against this leader. A five-star rating represents top performance relative to the field, rather than a requirement to achieve a theoretical perfect score of 100.
Each factor is weighted based on the Wall Street Journal’s assessment of how important key features are to consumers, using information and data collected from Dow Jones surveys and the expertise of Buy Side team members. The rating was issued in June 2026. Savant did not pay a fee to be considered for this rating.
