Chip Kalousek

Chip Kalousek serves as director of investment research and innovation, based out of our Birmingham, Alabama, office. In this role, he helps shape the Investment Department’s research and innovation agenda, participates on the Investment Committee, and leads the evaluation of new investment strategies, vehicles, and tools. He also identifies and implements technology, including automation and AI, to support greater efficiency across research, strategy, portfolio management, and trading.

To help keep this work aligned with advisor and client needs, Chip continues to serve as a Senior Investment Strategist. He works closely with clients to build lasting relationships, understand their financial goals, and provide personalized guidance that supports informed decision-making. He also contributes to Savant’s investment communications and thought leadership, creating content that helps make complex financial concepts more accessible and easier to understand.

A Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®), Chip has worked in financial services since 2014, serving as director of portfolio management at Bridgeworth from 2021 until it joined Savant in 2023. Before that role, he served as a senior portfolio strategist at a major financial institution, managing the administration and oversight of more than $1 billion in portfolio assets.

His background spans the discipline of fiduciary asset management, including investment policy, risk-based portfolio construction, manager due diligence, and implementation.

Chip remains active in the financial and local communities. He is vice president of the CFA Society of Alabama, vice chair of One Roof, a board member of the Alabama Economics Club, and leads the finance breakout group for Birmingham AI, where he focuses on making AI useful inside regulated, relationship-driven businesses.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance, with a concentration in investments and institutions, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Chip and his wife, Michelle, have two daughters, Josephine and Isabel. Together, they enjoy traveling, attending live music events, and spending time outdoors.
