Overview
Chip Kalousek serves as senior investment strategist and client advisor in Savant’s Birmingham, Alabama, office, where he helps clients, advisors, and the investment team navigate complex markets and make informed decisions. He focuses on after-tax wealth and portfolio construction built around real client goals, not just headline returns.
Chip plays a key role on Savant’s investment research team, helping shape investment strategy while creating educational content designed to make complex financial concepts easier to understand. He works closely with clients, building lasting relationships, understanding their financial goals, and providing personalized guidance that supports informed decision-making.
A Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®), Chip has worked in financial services since 2014, serving as director of portfolio management at Bridgeworth from 2021 until it joined Savant in 2023. Before that role, he served as a senior portfolio strategist at a major financial institution, managing the administration and oversight of more than $1 billion in portfolio assets.
His background spans the discipline of fiduciary asset management, including investment policy, risk-based portfolio construction, manager due diligence, and implementation.
Chip remains active in the financial and local communities. He is vice president of the CFA Society of Alabama, vice chair of One Roof, a board member of the Alabama Economics Club, and leads the finance breakout group for Birmingham AI, where he focuses on making AI useful inside regulated, relationship-driven businesses.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance, with a concentration in investments and institutions, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Chip and his wife, Michelle, have two daughters, Josephine and Isabel. Together, they enjoy traveling, attending live music events, and spending time outdoors.
