Lois Basil serves as lead advisor and financial advisor in our Chicago Northcenter office, where she helps clients create personalized financial plans that align with their goals and values. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, Lois guides clients through various aspects of financial planning, including wealth transfer and philanthropy, proactive income and estate tax strategies, retirement income optimization, insurance analysis, debt management, and education funding.

Lois has worked in the financial services industry for more than 25 years. She previously owned a Chicago-based accounting firm for 13 years before transforming it into a fee-only comprehensive financial planning firm. In 2011, she launched Basil Financial Group in Chicago’s Northcenter neighborhood, which joined Savant in 2023.

Passionate about giving back, Lois served on the board of the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners for four years and as its president in 2017. She is active in her church community, singing in the choir, serving as treasurer, and volunteering for emergency home repair projects in Appalachia.

Lois earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, and is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). She and her husband, Greg, live in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood and enjoy spending time with family, including their daughter, Hannah, who is also a financial advisor at Savant. Lois loves biking, traveling, reading, and visiting botanical gardens.
