Regional Director of Advisory / Member Owner
John Hanley serves as a regional director of advisory and works from our Chicago – Loop office. He began his career in 2007 on the Chicago Board Options Exchange trading floor, later moving into trading at a global financial services company. John advanced into operations and portfolio management at an asset management firm before transitioning to the registered investment advisory space in 2016, where he focused on building teams in operations, trading, data analytics, and practice management.
In his current role, John leads regional initiatives designed to strengthen advisor development, client growth strategies, and operational alignment across multiple offices. He works closely with advisors to improve capacity management, enhance client experiences, and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration. His leadership emphasizes building high-performing teams and implementing disciplined growth strategies through multiple channels.
John earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Roosevelt University in Chicago and holds Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) and Chartered Alternative Investment AnalystSM (CAIA®) designations. He played a key role in building operations and trading teams at Huber Financial until it merged with Savant in 2020. At Savant, he launched a business intelligence and data analytics team, developing practice management programs designed to help advisors thrive.
Away from work, John enjoys coaching his four children in local and school sports, including softball, baseball, soccer, and football, and traveling the country with them. He also supports school events and outreach initiatives.
